As we search the globe for new ideas, artwork, décor, and inspirations we can’t help but notice how amazingly different some coastal lifestyles really are. But let us begin by saying that creating peaceful and more relaxed spaces at home, especially during these stressful times is so important to one’s mental health and well-being!
We truly believe that most people would love to have a tranquil getaway space at home, a soothing and relaxing place to simply unwind. As our vision statement says, we want to bring the authentic beauty of the tropics to people who dream of getting away from the daily grind.
Creating the awesome tropical look that works for you means pulling together inspirations from places you have visited or maybe are only dreaming about. Anywhere from the South Pacific to the Mediterranean and from Central America to the Indian Ocean can provide inspiration. So let’s define what “tropical” means because there are more directions in which you can go than you might realize.
In our last section, we explored many of the different tropical looks out there. From tiki to casual beachy to British Colonial and even to Asian exotic, it’s all there for you to use your imagination to create that awesome and wonderful tropical escape at home.
Awesome and amazing accents are a must because they do two things: they not only complete a room but they bring it to life in a way that draws you into the whole experience of the space, which hopefully is your tropical escape! It doesn’t matter how nice or new your foundational pieces are (sofa, coffee table, dining room table, bedroom furniture).
Kava bowls are some of the most culturally significant objects in the South Pacific. When you think of the South Pacific, you probably imagine the amazing white sand beaches, the endless blues of the ocean and the always captivating coconut palms.
Obviously cannibal forks are really not something you would think of when trying to create a new tropical look. Most people are unaware that they even exist. That is what makes artwork and wood carvings from far off places so awesome! One of the absolute best things about searching the world for new and unique inspiration is that many times, you will find the most unusual, most beautiful things that you cannot find elsewhere because they simply are not mass-produced.
